I was born and grew up in the Umbrian countryside,
in Italy, and have been settled in England since 1979. My career has
ranged from administration, retail management and health care work to
teaching and translating Italian - working for organisations such as
Westminster and Bristol City Councils and Further Education Colleges.
Since 1984, I have been studying and working in
Complementary Health Care. I have comprehensively trained in the fields of
Oriental Medicine - including Shiatsu, Meditation, Tai Chi, Chi Kung,
Amerta Psycho-somatic Movement, Reiki Healing and Nutrition. In 1988 I
completed a 3 years Shiatsu course with the Healing-Shiatsu Education
Centre and have worked in private practice ever since. I am a registered
Member Teacher of the Shiatsu Society (MRSS T) in UK and follow their Code
of Ethics in my private practice. In 1993, I started teaching courses in
Shiatsu, preventative health care and professional development, and am
currently a member of the Shiatsu teaching team at the Devon School of
Shiatsu in Totnes, Devon.
I continue to periodically update my skills at
post-graduate level with leading international teachers in the fields of
Shiatsu, Meditation, Movement and Healing, and I am a certified NLP (Neuro-linguistic
Programming), Hypnotherapy practitioner and Reiki Master Teacher.
I enjoy working with people and beside any training
I may have done, my clients have been my best teachers. Combining my
mind-bodywork skills and long-term experience in complementary health
care, I aim to support my clients to enable them to recover and maintain
their health, as well as offer them relevant guidelines on how to prevent
habitual stress patterns from recurring in their lives.
Presently, I run a thriving Shiatsu, Seiki and Reiki
practice in Totnes. Following my training with Shiatsu Master Akinobu
Kishi Sensei over the past 5 years, and my attending a recent Seiki
Retreat in Japan, I now offer this innovative type of bodywork.
